SOLUTIONS
While the council itself acts as a body to establish initiatives and other solutions, below are some initial goals.

PHYSICAL SAFETY
Working with international media support to connect journalists with safehouses, establishing protocols to evacuate journalists or support them further while they stay in-country.

SPEECH SAFETY
Collate reports about free speech abroad for journalists. In addition, lobby US State AND work with NGOs to help journalists during current crises. Advocate as a council for free speech, everywhere.

INFORMATION SAFETY
Provide computer security resources such as cyber training, webcam covers, and secured lines to ensure that journalists’ work aren’t exploited. Additionally ensure all information collected is vetted to avoid spreading fake news.

GEOGRAPHIC SAFETY
As journalists enter new regions around the world, they must prepare by learning a new set of rules, cultures, customs, languages, and risks. In order to ensure safety, we will work with other members of the coalition and our partners in the federal government to share information about the situation on the ground before sending journalists in.
